1979 Street Legal Autocross/Track Day

True Classic
I'm happily moving in a different direction - retirement & travel - This is good news for me and for someone wanting a really nice car:

1979 - 1500 engine with 1300 pistons, shaved head, Weber 34 DATR with manual choke. 35/75 cam, port matched, header and custom exhaust. Miller's Mule adjustable cam gear. Runs great and totally reliable. 5-speed transmission (PO said rebuilt by Vick) - shifts great. No cooling problems - nailed at 190 degrees through this past hot Tennessee summer.

Vick's springs, front sway bar, shift lever cut, racing seats with 4-point harnesses. This car has been totally stripped - Radio and A/C removed before I got the car. I removed all the controls, the factory wiring, rhino lined the floor. I rewired the car with lights, wipers, headlights & signals - enough to make it legal. It has the Brown wire mod and the VW hard start solenoid update.

Street wheels/tires are 175/60/13 Falkens on Western cyclone mags. The stock wheels have 185/60/13 Sumi's in fair condition. I also have a set of Hoosier 20X8 race slicks that will fit either set of wheels.

There is cosmetic rust in a couple of places, but the body is rock solid. Windows roll up & down properly, top is in good condition.

SPARES: extra 1500 engine and 5-speed transmission. The PO said this engine has Probe forged pistons and a big valve head. It does not have a cam box.
I have the stock 1500 cam box complete; the original carburetor and air cleaner, springs, front & rear bumpers, and other miscellaneous stuff I can't think of at the moment.

Car is located in middle Tennessee. I have a trailer and will consider delivering it within a day's drive. This is a great opportunity for a turn key fun car, drive on the street or run D/SP. The only thing this car needs is a new driver!

$3,500 - As always, I have much more invested, but those costs were the price of admission to a couple of years of great fun. Well worth it.

Thanks for your help building and running this car, and for your help finding it a new partner.
