My wife's 2012 500 Sport had issues with the block ground circuit that caused engine failure when it was just a few years old - the current feeds through the main bearings if the ground circuit is weak. My mum is considering getting a 500, so I suggested she look at 2013 or newer to avoid that issue. Perhaps any 2012's still around have had that connector replaced? I recommended she look at Abarths, since she is used to Volvo T5 power levels

Go for 2016 and up - better speedo display, especially for an older person - easier to read, understand, communicate with and enter/change settings. 2018 and 2019 (the final year) got rear-view camerasNice!

You may consider a 500 Turbo. Still get more umph than a sport but not as loud as an Abarth. Maybe she'd like the braap?Nice!

The 2018/2019 Turbo’s actually sounded pretty good, not quite Abarthy, but more growl than a Prius
