A Running List of "Unobtainium"

Dan Sarandrea (Phila)

Waitin' On Parts...
I thought I would help Mac generate traffic by starting a list of X1/9 unobtainium.

1. Door opening gaskets

2. Rear control arm ball joints

3. Genuine molded carpeting (not the sewn stuff)

4. Tron (CD-179) hub covers

5. Now you add one to the list.....

This is a strange one, but I once met a guy with an X that had Cragar (SS) chrome rims in 13 inch that had the correct offset to run 50 series tires and I assume were 4x98. Not for many peoples taste for sure, but they must have made more than just the one set I saw. He was really proud of the rims as I recall.

I actually had the chance to buy one of those sets of cragars one time ages ago when I was in Chicago at some used tire shop, first and only set of those I ever saw, and they were slot lugs! I thought something was wrong with them at first when I noticed the bolt holes were oval! They were really rather interesting in their uniqueness (on a Fiat) but I pretty quickly decided the American Muscle-car look wasn't my speed... Plus the guy wanted too much

Grills and spoilers for late model x's

More unobtainium

If not unobtainium, all at least difficult to find: NOS stocks exhausted, no obvious aftermarket manufacturing, used equipment scarce and/or in poor condition

- '74 choke knob caps
- '74 style exhaust systems (mounting arrangement and two-tube downpipe)
- DMTR(A) carbs with manual choke
- '74 flywheels
- European 1300 timing belt covers and support bracket (no air pump)

ONE BILLION DOLLARS!!!

:D Muahahahahahaha... Muahahaha.. Muaha..err ....ummm ....OK that's enough.

please explain

whats up with the 74 flywheels? i just threw 2 tron wheel covers on ebay the other day, at a pretty fair price , i think. trying to get rid of junk i will never use.

The '74 flywheel is a pound or so lighter...

whats up with the 74 flywheels?

... than the flywheel for the '75-'78 1300 cars. The pressure plate assembly is thicker and heavier in the '74s to offset this, but the thinner/lighter 75-78 pressure plate works just fine with the '74 flywheel. So the winning combination is the '74 flywheel and the later pressure plate.
(As with all things fiat, the change won't correspond exactly to a model year).

I don't know that it's truely unobtainium, but there aren't that many of them around and they aren't making any more.

then i guess i just wasted money getting my 87 flywheel turned last week, now i need to get one of the 74,s turned. thanx for the heads up.

Center caps with the Bertone B

I have 4 yellow and 1 NOS. I need 3 NOS
Dashes. I am fine, but finding a uncracked dash took me 2 years
X1/9 luggage that came with the UK X1/9s

Stock height springs, apparently.

I don't need lowering. But there is no option as far as I can tell.

Good one

LOL, I miss that movie. heard they might make a 4th in the series this year though. Hope so, we need more Seth Green now that robot chicken is gone

Henk has or had anyway, moulded carpet

Cost a bit to ship over here but the quality is decent and it was worth the price. The sewn carpet I've seen is for the birds...
