Info translated from the X Italian website...

X1 / 9 California

A bath of chrome ....

Actually we do not have complete certainty whether this car is output directly from the Italian Fiat or a preparation for the U.S. market.

In reality, California is a rare specimens found in Sicily, which presented extensive chrome fittings.

The structure of the roll bar was made from a fairing chrome steel, the same applies to the lower flanks.

The arches were aluminum as well as the chrome bumper.

The circles were rural, the engine compartment was also chrome. The whole car was presented with an orange livery and was sold in the summer of 1975.

What a horrible Photoshop job

Actually... Photoshop was probably not in the budget for this job. I am sure they used MS paint to save so bucks!!

How do I get the 3 minute I spent laughing at this back?

Toss in the X1/9 speed boat and now you got something!!

That one is real though Rey!

Not a figment of Greg's fevered imagination. ;)

That car was posted here a couple of weeks ago

Someone posted pics of his first X (I think it was green).
I remember the odd, but very period, mix of tire sizes and the sagging quad exhaust.

So who posted those pics?
