At sign problem

Why is the editor turning at signs in my posts to asterix

I entered this with an at sign

joessmoe*joes.com

but it comes out with an asterix, what gives? Help!
 
possibly, but it ruins atempts to post links to flickr sets

which helps out people with dial-up and saves posters the time of inserting 20 pictures into a thread. :(

It would be nice if it was a user configurable option, maybe it is and I just don't see it.....
 
Doug... its NOT a moderator, per se...

... but an option built into the site itself... supposedly to prevent spam and the like. I too, find it to be a fix to a problem we really didn't have. But then again, I'm OLD.
