Blue Ridge Scenic Drive & Theare Event-Central VA

Denise Burchette

True Classic
All vintage, fun, fast, or topless cars welcome!!! So, invite your friends but please let us know if they are coming as we need final head count to reserve tickets and to make sure we don't leave anyone out on the drive!

Nelson County Scenic loop drive 4pm. Plan on meeting at the Devil’s Backbone Brewery at 4 pm on Sunday July 25th. We will take about 30 minutes to enjoy the cars, socialize and enjoy Devil's Backbone refreshments as you choose, and depart at 4:30 pm. We will then follow the Nelson Co. Scenic loop, back to 29 South, and continue on to Sweet Briar College.

After the run we will then go to Sweet Briar College to have a picnic dinner, some drinks, and enjoy Endstation Theatre's Hamlet. Endstation Theatre’s interpretation of Hamlet will begin at 7pm but our drive should put us there around 6:15. This leaves plenty of time for socializing, admiring cars, finding good seats for the show and beginning dinner. Endstation is going to reserve a parking section just for us! I encourage everyone to stay and see the show as it will be like no other presentation of Hamlet you have ever seen or heard. EndStation has been receiving national press for their productions and this show will not disappoint.

So, what we need from you:
Who is planning on coming? (# of people and # of Cars/Make/Model)
Who is planning on seeing the show, including all guests? (So, I can reserve tickets)

What you will need:
You car in proper working order – don’t forget to check the fluids and your brakes as this will be a spirited section of mountain roads

Additional Information -

The Nelson Scenic Loop is comprised of four scenic byways is a 50-mile auto tour that features Nelson County's bounty of natural, cultural, and historic attractions. Encompassing the Blue Ridge Parkway, Patrick Henry Highway (VA Route 151), Beech Grove Road (County Route 664) and Crabtree Falls Highway (VA Route 56), the Nelson Scenic Loop traverses both the verdant foothills of the Piedmont as well as the summits of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains.

Endstation Theatre Company presents another exciting outdoor classic - Hamlet. This envisioning of Hamlet will be staged on the old dairy barn on the Sweet Briar College campus. Shakespeare's famous prince will find himself in rural Virginia during the Civil War and the production will be accompanied by live music from the Lynchburg band Virgineola. This production will only continue to elevate the exciting theatrical exploration that Endstation Theatre Company has begun to build a reputation for.
