I witnessed it once, and the weird thing was that the Ex. gas sensor light would come on and fade out in tandem, EXACTLY the same as the oil light. The car had been sitting garaged for 4 months, and after that night I bought it I never saw the light again. That was around Thanksgiving.

Now the guy says that an oil light coming on at low RPMs only indicates either a overly sensitive oil pressure sensor, or a bad oil pump. Could this be true? Or could it have just been an electrical problem that made the lights fade out with more rpms and more voltage? How can I test my oil pressure? I got the factory shop manual coming in the mail, and it should have the proper pressure listed, right? Thanks

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->The only way to be sure of oil pressure is to tap into with a mechanical guage of known quality. If the oil pressure is good on the guage, you can proceed into the dreaded electircal gremlins. IF However the guage confirms the lite you may have a clogged pickup or bad oil pump. Excessive clearance in any of the bearings can cause a low oil pressure at idle when the pump spins up it will raise oil pressure as well. Buy a guage or have a mechanic check the oil pressure this job should be no more than a half hour labor, regardless of how tight and confining they say the X's engine bay is.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
