Cleaning Parts Fuel Pressure Regulator

Can the fuel pressure regulator be immersed in mineral spirits for cleaning?

Thanks,
Bob

For what purpose? There's nothing inside that would benefit. If the diaphragm is bad, the FPR is no good, if it's not torn, then the regulated pressure should be 2.5bar * atmospheric, 2bar under vacuum.

Just to make the outside look better

I have the engine out and apart and I'm trying to remove 29 years worth of crud from as many parts as possible. I just wondered if immersing it with the fuel rail would damage the insides.

Thanks,
Bob

For the outside, I'd just use a dremel wire wheel, then clear coat or paint, if you want to keep it shiny
