This happened to me two years ago, but first a few questions to make sure it's the same problem.
1. Does your brake pedal move a little when you depress the clutch?
2. If you tap the brake pedal when the clutch is stuck down, does the clutch pop loose?
If you answered YES to both these questions it sounds like your gonna have to do alot of work in a tight space.
Step 1. Remove the pedal assembly. Take the wheel
and the seat out to give you room.
2. Take assembly apart.
3. Grease as much as you can and make
sure everything moves about freely.
4. Put it all back together.
5. Take it for a spin and you'll be amazed
at how nice your clutch pedal feels.
6.Smile & enjoy the ride.

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Take a look under the dash at the clutch assembly and pay close attention to the big return spring and the points at either end where the spring is anchored. The anchor points in some Xs will wear down over time and become more flat than round. If that happens, it moves the spring's arc of travel such that the spring actually ends up making the pedal stick at the floor, meaning it will return, but you have to pull it off the floor with your toe before it will move. Not only that, but the worn anchor points can eventually cause the spring to snap at one end and that is dangerous! I had it happen to me once - and it happened WHILE I was driving! So not only was the pedal stuck down, but there was this huge spring launching off under the dash! Not the kind of thing one enjoys whilst tooling down the freeway! So the moral? Check that spring and its anchor points for wear, as well as following James' advice. Peace, -Mac.
