Have you gained access to this area by going through the REAR TRUNK access panel?
It would also be the easiest method of replacing that pipe also.
If it isn't the hose or the EGR valve... I would opt for the JB WELD. I have a JB WELD repaired PLASTIC radiator on my 90 Civic with 160K on it... and 110K with the repair!

The hole is about .030" big. My concern is if there is one, there could be more about to break through. My background is high pressure boilers, so yes, i am slightly paranoid. If I can get a replacement, it seems fairly straight forward, and will just replace.
By the way, what brilliant engineer came up with false floors in trunks filled with moisture trapping fiberglass? I found my first rust project...

The hole is about .030" big. My concern is if there is one, there could be more about to break through. My background is high pressure boilers, so yes, i am slightly paranoid. If I can get a replacement, it seems fairly straight forward, and will just replace.
By the way, what brilliant engineer came up with false floors in trunks filled with moisture trapping fiberglass? I found my first rust project...
