Does the Uno Turbo manifold fit on 1.5 Carb?

To my understanding, the MK1 Uno turbo manifold fits on the X head but there would be too high compression and you will be at serious risk of blowing something up.

There is a reason why fold just fit the whole uno turbo engine and no one has just retro fitted the turbo...

Damon is running a turbo on a 1500 *7psi with no issues.

you can run boost on any compression, im sure the x block can take up to 12psi IF you have the right tuning, most of the newer up-to-date engines run up to 18psi and have about 9.5:1 compression

Compression

Well the turbo specialist I talked to today just installed and is running a massive turbo on a 10:5 compression Holden and has never had a slip.

I have had no luck with the uno engines as I bought one that was blown and the one I am in discussion with now does not seem to want to be sold to me.

I will buy all new parts, already have high pressure fuel reg, 3.0L fuel pump, charge cooler courtesy of Rachel in England. Oil cooler etc. Looking at a Gt20 turbo that should spool nice and early and be fine on 6lbs. I am taking the clutch next week to get uprated, the pressure plate increased etc.

I will look into all the options and do this engine the best I can, but at the end of the day a professional mechanic is actually building it, so all is well.

The manifold! The turbo specialist actually had a look at it and thought it was tough enough to handle the power, would just need new clamps fabricated and maybe a bit of steel strengthening. Any thoughts?

Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

Thanks all..

I believe the bottom end is also different on the Uno Turbo. I guess the rods and pistons are different and I also remember something about oil cooling the bottom of the pistons? I'm sure someone will correct me on this...

It has oil squirters.

If one has the engine apart, it shouldn't be difficult to add squirters.

The oil squirters at the journals are a good idea, but technology for Turbos has surpassed this motor. Event though I have a Uno motor, I'm still planning on ceramic coating the piston tops and teflon coating the skirts. This process will make the piston pretty much indestructible. Relatively cheap too.
