Cool!!, i went thru all you are doing to it now.Cooling, brake systems done.New NOS struts all around with proper rear early X on front.Project stalled due to a divorce like 3yrs ago.But getting back into it now.Going to start changing rear suspension bushings as well as fr swaybars too.Bought reman carb on ebay gor like $35 shipped. Also switching to the poor mans header with the right 4-2 early exhaust manifold and Yugo 2-1 downpipe. Then fix the wobly shifter....
Ill be following your build on GRM!!
Good luck!!

In reading your GRM blog, you installed a Lada ignition switch. If this is a late model version it is set up for a starter relay to the solenoid would be in order to ensure your shiny new ignition switch lives a nice long life. One of the ones some have used on Xs would serve well in this instance or of course make your own.
This one intended for a wet environment might be best:

I'm intrigued by the source for bumpers from Argentina. I noticed you're in CT...rather remarkable to see the car so solid from that part of the country too!
