Fiat engine tin Quiz

johnph

True Classic
I found this mangled tin in a pile of X 1/9 parts. Is it X 1/9 or 128? What does it fit and where does it go? The convex side has waxy cosmolene on it so that is the bottom.
If you have a good one, please post pics so I can reshape this one back to original.

On my 74, there used to be a couple of metal pieces like this around the transmission and front of the engine to keep the contents in the tire wheel area from getting into the engine compartment. It might be one of these. Probably the fastest part most people tossed, maybe even beating out the dreaded O2 pump. ;)

Having restored (degrease, repaint) all the original sheet metal shields a couple of years ago on my 74, I can say that the part in the photo does not look like it came off a 74 or perhaps any X1/9.
