Foglights for my Scorpion...

Earlier this year I helped fellow Xweb'er Dean Rees sell a car for a charity. As a thank-you, he gave me a set of Hella 530 foglights circa ~1987. While not perfectly vintage (off by about 10 years), the kit included a perfectly vintage fused relay that uses the same bayonet fuses the car does, kinda cool. To me, a car without foglights is like a car without wipers.

Here's the relay mounted on an existing bracket and hole:

You must live in the Pacific Northwest...

Looks good. I have a set of Bosch's with the open grill protectors, vintage 1983 or 4. A future X part. They originally were on my 1980 X and have been on several different cars in the years since.

For the switch, I used the included toggle and mounted it in an existing hole in the fuse panel cover, but left the wire long so I can relocate it. Eventually I'll install a factory foglight switch in the center console.

I wired it so the switch grounds the relay, a safer way than a switched power leg.
