Formula mag wheels on a street car?

Hi,
Are wheels from a formula 1600 or 2000 car could be used on a street car? Got somebod having 3 pièces wheels from a formula cars for sale but I have doubt about the safet/strength of these wheels on a "heavy" car like the X1/9.

A FF weights roughly 1000~1200 lbs depending (1600 or 2000). The X is obviously double that. But the formula car is cornering at 1.5 lateral g where a street car is seldom above .6 or .7 g. And infrequently at that. So the lateral stress is not going to be an issue. I would worry more about bending the rim shells in pot holes. If you are careful and don't run a typical 60 profile sidewall height you should be fine.

One thing to remember; Aluminum and Magnesium have a limited service life. So if the wheel center is either material you do run the risk of failure with extreme age.
