Found an 82 Blue w/Blue interior

Daily Driver
So I found, based on text pics what appears to be a fairly solid 82 (with some minor damage to the drivers rear quarter ) and a blue interior on a blue car. He claims to have only had the car for a month and it was garage parked most of its life before he bought it and parked it in field.

The blue interior, while unique isn't for me. Would it be bad to dye the interior or would it be better for the community to pull and sell the blue dash, carpet , seats and door cards? Or, since the owner is asking $2000 for a car that needs minor body work, paint, keys, title, has a blue interior and not certain if it runs should I move on and find the combo I want for a little more?

Of the color combos I've seen, blue is my least favorite... especially with the later interior.

. . . I think there is going to be a lot of rust . . .

Unless you want a project I'd probably pass. Although I am curious to hear other's opinions on dying the interior.

I would keep looking. Blue isn't my thing either. Find the best car you can in the color you are looking and start from there.

Cars that are "outstanding in their field" can look pretty good on top, but under death can be severely rusted.

I would say, if it's close to at least go look at it. You should pass on something purely because of a "what if" that you have no clue about.

You could at least request more photos or videos. If the seller is motivated he should be able to supply more pics and answers. Everyone has a 4+MP camera in their pockets at all times.

No, I've seen plenty of pics. The body appears solid, but then again you never truely know until someone looks at it. My time is to go 2.5 hours without the trailer or intent on buying. That said, more i think about it the more I want a boring black or red on black or black on red or red interior in a X.... blue looks to pimpy for me.

Very very blue. It doesn't look horrible. I pulled a 75 out of a field once, it didn't look horrible at first. However, with the long grass growing up to the car, it never really gets completely dried out. The 75 was roached underneath. If this blue X has really only been there a month, the grass probably isn't too big of a concern.

Am I reading you OP right? Not sure if it runs, no keys, no title? If the body is solid and you are up for a complete gut of the interior, see how low the seller will go.

On the other hand, in the immortal words of Wesley Snipes : Always bet on black.

I disagree with most. I like the blue interior. I'm usually not a fan of blue, especially for the outside, but it's really a matter of taste. It have a 1980's taste.

You have to make your own limit. I personnaly HATE red cars. I wouldn't buy a correctly priced red car. But if it was a deal, maybe. Probably not a purple or pink one, but red is still ok. I could drive the car for awhile then decide if I really want another one in the right color for me, so I would be sellling that one, or if the car is good enough, to invest in a change of colour of the parts I dislike.

2k for unknown seams way high. (for 2k I have two that both myself and my wife are driving and enjoying) though both need body and paintwork. We are enjoying the crazy out of them.

He'd probably take a grand for it if you showed up with cash. Be a wheeler dealer and you might just
save enough money to redo that interior :)

I think I'm going to keep looking, I'd rather find a driver than a complete project right now.... already have one of those.
