I assume these are the same, as IAP's listing says "2 required". The problem is, nobody local lists any rear seals, only front. The one listing I found other than IAP ended up cross referencing to someone elses front seal. Thus, it was either a typo or the front and rear are the same seal. To confuse it more, IAP lists no front seals. Ugh. I'm about to tell NAPA to order 4 "front seals" and hope they really are the same as the rear.

After getting nowhere locating a ring nut tool, I took it to a local machine shop. For $25 they made me a tool to fit. It worked beautifully, and the nut came out undamaged and torqued back down without a hitch. I now probably have the only 1979+ Fiat X1/9 ring nut removal tool south of Seattle...
FWIW - they made it out of a pair of 2" squares set 90 degrees apart. They then drilled two holes and welded them together. Finally, they punched a 1/2 inch square in the center for a torque wrench to fit in. The eight points grab the nut nicely.

Someday I'll need to get me a real machine that can take two parallel ports.
One might actually get away with a single square with a torgue wrench hole, but since I really didn't want to risk a $22 nut I opted for the extra square to bite the other 4 nut indentations (the nut expects an octagon tool to remove it)
The tool looks like a Star of David, only with 8 points instead of 6. Oh, and most jewish symbols don't have a place to put a torque wrench either

I assume these are the same, as IAP's listing says "2 required". The problem is, nobody local lists any rear seals, only front. The one listing I found other than IAP ended up cross referencing to someone elses front seal. Thus, it was either a typo or the front and rear are the same seal. To confuse it more, IAP lists no front seals. Ugh. I'm about to tell NAPA to order 4 "front seals" and hope they really are the same as the rear.

After getting nowhere locating a ring nut tool, I took it to a local machine shop. For $25 they made me a tool to fit. It worked beautifully, and the nut came out undamaged and torqued back down without a hitch. I now probably have the only 1979+ Fiat X1/9 ring nut removal tool south of Seattle...
FWIW - they made it out of a pair of 2" squares set 90 degrees apart. They then drilled two holes and welded them together. Finally, they punched a 1/2 inch square in the center for a torque wrench to fit in. The eight points grab the nut nicely.

Someday I'll need to get me a real machine that can take two parallel ports.
One might actually get away with a single square with a torgue wrench hole, but since I really didn't want to risk a $22 nut I opted for the extra square to bite the other 4 nut indentations (the nut expects an octagon tool to remove it)
The tool looks like a Star of David, only with 8 points instead of 6. Oh, and most jewish symbols don't have a place to put a torque wrench either
