Fuse Box on 82 X

Just a question, Is there any way to reduce or lessen the wires going to Fuse Box? I literally have to pry the box up to get the catches to catch. I must be doing something wrong. Can I bundle the wires tighter together with tie wraps to tighten the wires up? Will that cause extra heat build up

Any suggestions appreciated
