We have one from an X we parted out over the years, but won't use it. Not fond of them.

Nice! Is that the same yellow used on the 500's?
No, it's a fleet color from the Diamont fleet color book. We decided on that color many years ago, but recently (after we bought the base coat) noticed the yellow on the newer Fiat 500s and thought that color would have been a good yellow also.

Is that why they call it “fly yellow”
That's a new one for me. Hadn't heard it put that way. Maybe I could hire out as sort of a "pied Piper", removing bugs from towns. My luck would be that it would attract only killer bees and I couldn't get the window up.
 
It did. We are glad we did it, but don't ever want to go through that again. I guess we've just done enough sanding in our lifetimes. Most of our sanding was motorcycles & parts. A complete car is something different, even a car as small as an X. It can, however save a bit of money over having someone else do it all, and some satisfaction in doing what one can to contribute.
