GTV6 For Cheap

Clatter

True Classic
Went to Osuna’s Auto Electric in Watsonville CA to get my alternator rebuilt.
A great shop BTW…

Noticed an Alfa GTV6 in the lot.
The guy at the counter says it’s the owner’s and he wants to get rid of it - super cheap.

I’m putting it up here so hopefully someone -else- will get it! 😜

I don’t know anything about it at all so don’t ask me.
Sleuth out the number, location, owner, etc. if you’re game.
Not mine and I’m not going back anytime soon.

A sweet car these.
Blue plate, great color…

Maybe someone will save it?

I also have a friend locally with a rusty one for parts for free or close to it.
PM me only if you’re 100% real.
My friend isn’t into chatting or answering questions.

Need to get these gone before i fall in love and give myself another massive life setback!
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Dude, my little stupid voice is my head doesn't need any help...
I know, right?
The car is super dry and straight.
What could it possibly need?
Some little voice in my head just keeps nagging.
Maybe i could go steal Mom’s jewelry to get some extra money and…

Crack!
It’s like crack i tell you..!

Oh Yeah! I remember lusting over one in the show room back in the day. Never owned one. However, I did get a Milano Verde, which I loved like a flawed child. The GTV6 would be fun, quirks and all.

As a former Alfa Romeo Service Manager and Tech when these were new, not to mention owner of several, I can unequivocally state that the term "GTV6" and "cheap" are mutually exclusive.

My first Alfa was a silver GTV6, maybe 2004 or so. It was in decent shape but needed head gaskets and some paint repair. Then I cycled through a few Alfettas, and in 2010 got an amazing Milano Verde. Sold it in 2019.

Unfortunately looking at this GTV6, in my opinion it's too far gone--it's a parts car at best now. Shame.

If you want one, buy a good one.

Of course the rule is “always buy the best one you can afford”,
But what makes you think this one is gone?
It’s really dry and there is no obvious rust.
The left front fender has some mud obviously,
But the other crusty corners you see in the pics are just dirt from it being stored under trees or something.
There are no visible rust bubbles or holes anywhere.
Sure, storing outside has it’s own set of issues in warm/dry places, like rubber and vinyl deteriorating,
But I’ll take dry and crusty over damp and rotten any day.

Do these have hidden rust hidey spots
Like the infamous “hell hole” on the Porsche 914?

How likely are any of these to still have viable original rubber parts like window and door seals, etc?

Front shock tower/aprons are the horrible rust spot on these. Along with the tail light panel, windshield surround, and around the rear hatch glass.

Also, I've seen your rat nest thread so, I suppose you do have the skills to save it. :)

And the special license plate to piss off the Alfa snobs. ;)
I purchased a Milano 3.0 new in 1988, I was highly annoyed that the VIN tag in the windshield was marked "Fiat SpA". A few months ago I purchased a 1997 Alfa 916 Spider and was highly annoyed (again!) the VIN tag in the engine compartment was labeled

Somehow I am expecting the ghost of Lee Iacocca to appear.....

PS - the 850 Sport Coupe looks bellissima!
