Car ran and drove well. I took I5 up and the twisties back.

When I got home I decided to work on adjusting the idle as it was dying if I did not heel toe it when coming to a complete stop. When adjusting the idle, I noticed what looked like a spray pattern on the asphalt behind the exhaust. Put my hand behind there and revved the engine and pulled my hand away wet.

I am assuming this means I have a break in my head gasket somewhere.

Just looking to confirm. Not sure when I will get around to replacing it. I guess this rules out autocross before fixing it.

Since it looks like I'll probably be pulling the head, i'll probably be scrounging for a Yugo head for a compression bump. What are the going rates for a valve job, etc.. to refurb a head? Time to start saving I guess.

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Did it smell like maple suyrp? That's what burning antifreeze smells like. Most older cars I know do have this problem. My 51 Plymouth has no leaks at all, and goes through mufflers pretty quickly for this very reason. It's likely just condensation, and nothing to worry about... If I remember what I have read, it's a combination of humidity and atmospheric pressure (or something like that). If it runs good, don't sweat it!
