Hey guys it’s been a while but I’ve come to a decision

Quantumleap

Rich Banks
Im going to sell my X that I’ve had since ‘06, for the past two years I haven’t taken her out or tinkered with her. It’s time for someone else to enjoy the car. Some in the group have seen the car in person at a couple of get togethers we’ve had. It’s an ‘85 Bertone, with Cromodoras, car is pretty clean with a repaint at one time, new water pump, oil pan gasket, radiator flush, brake caliper rebuild at all 4 corners, drilled slotted rotors and stainless braided lines. Need a CV boot on the right side soon, rust hole in trunk but none in structurally important areas at all. Momo steering wheel. I don’t have time for her anymore, don’t really want to sell but I need to make room in my garage. Selling my ‘88 Corvette 35th Anniversary Edition as well if interested.
X1/9 $5,000, Vette $8000. My email is vws4two@msn.com. No reasonable offer refused, lowballers need not apply

Will post pics later today

Here’s the Vette info:
1988 Corvette 35th Anniversary Commemorative Edition, car has special triple white trim, comes with L98 motor, stack of records going back to when it was new, car has been well cared for and has been driven, not a garage queen. Has cold A/C, climate control. This car has a laundry list of items that have been replaced in the past year: New radiator, water pump and thermostat, lower temp fan switch, fuel pump, fuel filter, rebuilt headlight motors, new plug wires, plugs, distributor and ICM, new brakes and rotors, rear wheel bearings, powder coating on wheels, new tires all around, fresh 4-wheel alignment. Have both tops, box of extra parts and trim. Second top is stored in protective bag. Has weatherproof car cover with bag as well. Have a set of spare rare white side moldings (unobtainium). Car is an 8 out of 10 cosmetically (10 being show quality). Gets comments wherever I go, thumbs up from other Corvette drivers on the road, from early model owners to the new C7’s! Car is in daily driver condition, kept clean, period correct original but she’s still a 30 year old car, and is meant to go to someone who appreciates these cars and or is a car person themselves as I am. Got lots of love at Caffeine & Octane as well. No reasonable offer refused.

Nice X for sale here guys and gals. Here is Rich's X out at Papa Tony's SoCal party in 2006(?), still wearing the Trons.

Good luck with the sale Rich! :)

Sorry to see it go Rich, but good luck with the sale.
You've put a lot of blood, sweat & tears in that car over the years.
Wish I could take it off your hands.

So Rich, what are you going to do now? You know how this forum is, even if you are no longer into Fiats we still like you! ;)

I am sorry to see you sell such beautiful automobiles but I understand life all too well.
I really wished I could buy them both, especially the wonderful X1/9.
Good luck and thoroughly vet each potential buyer. Have to ensure that these will be taken care of.
Mike

I forgot to mention something else with the car, I replaced the brake fluid reservoir with the BMW one, looks great! But, I didn’t tighten the hose clamp tight enough so now there’s an air bubble, pedal goes to the floor, car stops but system needs to be bled. I asked in the workshop forum and the consensus was that they be bled at the calipers. I might try to do that before someone buys it.
