Correction to the amount of weight removed. Two and three eighths pounds. Found the original postit note I recorded the numbers on and transferred those numbers to my permanent records. The starting weight of sixteen pounds was also recorded on that same note.

I've never had a 1500 FW lightened, but have had a few of the 1300 FW lightened at a local shop. Stock 1300 is 15 lbs, lightened to 11 lbs.
A friend used a 1500 flywheel with a 1300 ringgear (ina 4spd car) to allow use of the (slightly) larger 1500 clutch. Useing the reverse combo (1300 FW and 1500 ringgear) might be a way for the 5spd fellas to get a much lighter flywheel...just avoid sidestepping the clutch at 8000rpm!
If you want to spend a large bag of money ($200?), the 1300 FW can be further lightened to under 10lbs by flycutting notches around the perimeter.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
