Hi Guys.
I figured out why I couldnt open or lock the door. The little cast ball end has broken off.. In Australia this is passenger side door but for you guys it is drivers side door..
Is it possible to fix this?
Thanks
Nick

Yeah, by replacing the whole pawl.. :)

Drive out the little roll pin, and remove the pawl, buy a replacement and refit...

Pretty common for the little ball end to break off, I've never found a good reliable fix apart from replacement.

I've got some new ones, shoot me an email.

Are you driving up to Goulburn for the Nationals next weekend?

I'm flying over for the three days, if your going to be there I'll bring a pawl with me...

They are marked D (destro) ans S (sinistro) for right and left... do you need an "S"?

Not going to Golbourn

Hey Steve
No I am not making the nationals and I will find out which it is sinistro
or destro.
There is no rush I dont think.. the car is going to mechanic for rego check this week I hope. I will email you and send you cash and deal with it when you get back

When mine failed, the ball was still in the reciever of the lock rod. I ended up drilling out the ball and the pawl. I then put a pin through the ball into the pawl and epoxied it.

It was a trifle tricky to do but I was able to do it using drill press and a clamp.

Mine has been that way for the last 14 years and its worked fine so far.
