... but I'll ask anyways. The boot on the right rear a-arm ball joint was torn, so I separated the joint to to replace the boot. And now that I have the ball joint apart, I find that it feels very loose and I can move it up and down in its socket by a millimeter or so. Time to replace it?

And I was so hoping to get Green Car back on the road this weekend :sigh:

If I'm lucky the a-arm on my parts car will be good, and I can still finish up this weekend. :sigh:

sounds like you're done.Surprised you haven't felt it yet, had one get loose and it was the weirdest feeling going around corners at higher speeds, very scary. Mine got pretty bad because I had never owned a car with independent rear suspension and never thought about rear ball joints going out. I was going over the front end for 2 weeks trying to figure it out, at least you discovered it before it got real bad
