We learned of an X that had ended up in a junkyard about 20 minutes from us, so we brought our respective laundry lists and headed out...
It was about 85 degrees, raining, and the place has mosquitos as big as bumble bees! We made our way to the car - climbing over a few, and getting COVERED in burdocks in the process. Checked it over, decided what we wanted to buy, and walked back to the managers office to make him an offer on what we wanted. On the way back, we decided that $300 was appropriate for all of the stuff we wanted to score. The manager scratched his (greasy) head, and says "hows $200" - we jumped on it - I think he was upset when he realized we would have gone higher.
It was 20 to 2, and he told us we had to be out be two, so we rushed back, and pure adreneline drove us to pull all of the parts in time
The score:
Kyle - New roof, new hood (few surface rust spots, but basically good), window switches and several relays.
Me- new seats (after a steam cleaning, these suckers look brand new!), a late style instrument cluster (YES!!! A 140 mph speedo!
), the panel for the hazard lights, and the hood ornament from a Jaguar (don't ask
).
WOO HOO!!!
So, I'm under the impression that the speedo is completely interchangable with mine (the 85mph one) - am I indeed correct?
A successful mission! If we get a cooler day, after the mosquitos are gone, I'm going back for the front spoiler, and maybe grab a few other things before the car goes to the crusher. - no other usable sheet metal, it's really rusty.

Sounds like you guys came away with some great stuff...I just found out about 2 X's in my area. I am hoping to get out this weekend and see what is good....apparently they have been there for quite awhile. I don't know what years they are but I'll find out. Maybe I can gather up some useful parts and help some fellow Xer's out.
Sounds like the Lime Rock trip was great....wish I could have been there...waiting to see the video. I spent the weekend swapping tranny's!
