Before I found these, I contacted Apple Motors in CO. and they will make up sets of Koni struts for any X by using a '78 or older rebuildable strut, a Koni insert for another car and an adaptor that allows the use of the other insert in an X sleeve. They say the strut is slightly shorter (lowers the car) but is in all other respects the same as an original Koni X insert. They charge around $118 per Koni insert and $25 for the adaptor. I had rebuildable struts so I don't know what they would charge for the outers if you didn't have them. I guess as a business owner my self I would love to charge list for my products but because of the advent of places like Home Depot I can't. All I wanted to do was to make a set of Koin's myself because shipping to Canada would cost a small fortune and I would also try to make the adaptor myself as well.
X1/9 parts in Canada are starting to become very hard to find and when you do find them you have to give your right arm. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want to take business away from Apple but shipping to Canada is not cheap. And if I want to stay ahead of those rotten hondas I have to spend money.( if your like me, the least amount of payout the better.) Plus I am trying to get the funds to go to the hill climb and still be able to modify my car.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
