As for springs, any particular reason you selected the 300 pound rates? My street car has stiffer springs than that. What else are you doing with the setup and what wheels and tires are you using? All will have an impact on the desired spring rate.

I want to go with stiffersprings then that way I won't need a swaybar. Plus I want to be competitive in my club stuff. I am trying to beat a CRX and a 944, for some reason they are in my C/D S.S class and I am getting my but kicked.

The stock springs may be 200#, but my street car doesn't have stock springs on it.
If you don't want to use a front swaybar, then you will need a stiffer front spring to give the car proper balance. 300# springs all around will make the car very loose. Consider going 50 to 100 pounds stiffer in front.

Accelleration off the corners shouldn't be affected. The 215/50-13 is very close to the same OD as the 175/60-13 so the gearing is little affected. You may have to roll the front fender lip, or trim the front of the wheel opening slightly for clearance.
If you don't want to use a front swaybar you need to go about 50 to 100 pounds stiffer on the front springs. If you use 300# rears, then go 350 or 400 in front. If you can find them, 375# would probably be ideal.

If the alignment and suspension components check out OK, then it comes down to driver error. As you noted, a car with rear weight bias has trailing throttle oversteer. You can't change the laws of physics. But you can learn to live within the law. You will never go fast trying to over drive the entry of the corner. You should always be comming off the brake as you begin to turn the wheel and arrive at the apex under control and on the throttle.
When people drive my race car for the first time, I always tell them you can't turn the wheel unless the throttle is open.

I told myself "don't let off, don't let off" - it isn't easy to keep your foot in it while your instincts say "I'm too fast, need to slow down". Near the end I think I almost floored it which shifted a little more weight to the rear and, getting all the way out to the right edge of the track while countersteering, got the car back.

I found out at the next trackday at SIR that this works in the rain too.
Lap 1: Sebastian Sittig spins his Spider off the track in front of me kicking gravel on the track.
Lap 2: I hit Sebastian's gravel and spin in front of him (!). In an autocross reflex, I clutch out and pump the gas to keep the engine running but instructor on passenger seat shouts at me to lock the brakes since I am sliding backwards down the track.
Lap 3: I hit the same gravel again, get more and more sideways, instructor shouts "Hit the brakes" but I keep my foot down and barely save it Duke's of Hazzard style. Best of all this happend right in front of the grand stands, so I got a bunch of comments afterwards, hehe. I don't think I have ever been as sideways in the rain and not spun.
Damn, the season is over, just when I feel like some motorsport action.

As for springs, any particular reason you selected the 300 pound rates? My street car has stiffer springs than that. What else are you doing with the setup and what wheels and tires are you using? All will have an impact on the desired spring rate.

The stock springs may be 200#, but my street car doesn't have stock springs on it.
If you don't want to use a front swaybar, then you will need a stiffer front spring to give the car proper balance. 300# springs all around will make the car very loose. Consider going 50 to 100 pounds stiffer in front.

Accelleration off the corners shouldn't be affected. The 215/50-13 is very close to the same OD as the 175/60-13 so the gearing is little affected. You may have to roll the front fender lip, or trim the front of the wheel opening slightly for clearance.
If you don't want to use a front swaybar you need to go about 50 to 100 pounds stiffer on the front springs. If you use 300# rears, then go 350 or 400 in front. If you can find them, 375# would probably be ideal.

If it is excessive, check the alignment and all of the suspension bushings, ball joints and tie rods. Worn components will cause the car to be sloppy and will contribute to the problem.
If the alignment and suspension components check out OK, then it comes down to driver error. As you noted, a car with rear weight bias has trailing throttle oversteer. You can't change the laws of physics. But you can learn to live within the law. You will never go fast trying to over drive the entry of the corner. You should always be comming off the brake as you begin to turn the wheel and arrive at the apex under control and on the throttle.
When people drive my race car for the first time, I always tell them you can't turn the wheel unless the throttle is open.

I told myself "don't let off, don't let off" - it isn't easy to keep your foot in it while your instincts say "I'm too fast, need to slow down". Near the end I think I almost floored it which shifted a little more weight to the rear and, getting all the way out to the right edge of the track while countersteering, got the car back.
This felt like quite an accomplishment

I found out at the next trackday at SIR that this works in the rain too.
Lap 1: Sebastian Sittig spins his Spider off the track in front of me kicking gravel on the track.
Lap 2: I hit Sebastian's gravel and spin in front of him (!). In an autocross reflex, I clutch out and pump the gas to keep the engine running but instructor on passenger seat shouts at me to lock the brakes since I am sliding backwards down the track.
Lap 3: I hit the same gravel again, get more and more sideways, instructor shouts "Hit the brakes" but I keep my foot down and barely save it Duke's of Hazzard style. Best of all this happend right in front of the grand stands, so I got a bunch of comments afterwards, hehe. I don't think I have ever been as sideways in the rain and not spun.
Damn, the season is over, just when I feel like some motorsport action.
