Lancia...

I actually saw one of these this weekend!

The one I saw was one of the original aluminum bodied models... I think only a few of those were made before it went into real production with steel bodies. (well, wikipedia says 700 total between the sport, and sport 1.3) The hood on the one I saw opened to the passenger side, rather than being hinged at the front. It was a silver car, just like this one. Pretty cool car... the Lancia narrow angle V4 is too cool. It's so compact that it is pretty amazing to oogle over.

Overall I think it's a very neat and attractive car. And it is definitely something different.

Regrettably I didn't check it out too much though as the garage the Alfa club tech session was in also had a DinoGT, a Ferrari 330, Alfa Montreal, Jag Xk120, E-type, Isetta, Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS (61?), Fiat 500 Giardiniera, and several other Alfa's including a Alfa Romeo 2600 Zagato! Lots of eye candy to go around.

Seen plenty of Zagato Fulvia Sports this side of the Pond ...

But none had the script on the leading edge of the bonnet. Rear quarterlights open via Bowden cable like the hatch.

I vote for "beautiful, but probably not to everyone". The kind of people who would frequent this board are already predisposed to "like" odd cars. The kind of people who see cars as appliances probably would not like it.

To be honest Pat

I love Zagatos of every stripe. Bit like appreciating the looks of British bulldogs.
I always hankered after one in bright red or silver. My recollection is that they came in 1300 and 1600cc versions.

As it looks in these entries, only later cars have the hood script.

looks aren't the issue

the main attribute of the Zagato is how it drives. It's truly a great drivers car.

2c,

Saw a 1967 Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato at a Cars and Coffee this morning. I had never seen or was even aware of this model and of course there is a thread here on it! All aluminum body. The owner was slowly restoring it but is a great runner at the moment.
