Hi I'm looking to find out what my engine code is please

Fiat 138.1 is a late 1300 block

your engine number is missing something...

128.036, there should be maybe a couple more letters in a slightly smaller font size, on the top line after the 128, between that and the .036 suffix.

For example, a X19 block would have a small AS there, a 128 coupe/3p would have a small AC in there. maybe clean the area up and take a picture and post it

If you have the head off, then you can work out the capacity easy enough....

no letter in between the 128 and the 036 suffix... which I have no idea which market that refers to but could be the designation for a south african market engine, seeing as you're in south africa... is unusual, and may mean it's an 1100 ? easily checked as the 1100 had an 80mm bore.
