modding my dash

True Classic
The thing needs recovering (as in it needs a new cover), and I was unhappy with the design and weight of the bit that goes around the cluster and the glovebox lid, so I'm building my own piece to replace these.
Still a long way to go...got tabs to put on and a fair amount of shaping, in the end it will be fiberglassed and then vinyl covered.

way to go

replaced my 77 dash years ago, made one out of wood, painted with a textured finish. Paint is finally starting to crack. I've been painting the car again, so I'm planning on taking the dash out and coating it with a rubberized coating, going to see if plastidip will hold up

Does anyone know what happened to Grady's car?

Termites.

In all seriousness, I believe someone (Mac, maybe?) once posted that the dash was eventually trashed as it had been allowed to deteriorate to beyond repair, which doesn't bode well for the rest of the car. JimD will probably provide a link to the exact post before I finish typing this. ;-)

Cheers,

///Mike
