But really the point of making those was not to figure out a logo, but to figure out a NAME. An organization of such a magnitude would need a good name. Although it is straight-forward & descriptive enough, I just don't like the prospect of calling it "X1/9 Owners Club Of North America". It just lacks passion. It sounds too plain for me.
Then again, I don't have many other ideas either, at the moment...
ALSO worth thinking about in a name, is the acronym or 'nickname' of the organization. This one has me really stumped!
When this group was founded, "SeattleX1/9" just hit the nail on the head for us. It's catchy, easy to say, and has a nice nickname potential, "SeaX"
But GEEZOMAN, think about the acronym for "X1/9 Owners Club of North America" - - XOCNA ??
Or, "North American X1/9 Owners Club" - NAXOC ??
Hmmn. "X1/9 Enthusiasts North America" - XENA ?!?!
Would our future Xheads of the continent be cursing their forefathers forever for the group being forever referred to as Xena? It does sound more like a Warrior Princess than a bigass car club
So, I am having writer's block. Anyone have suggestions for the name? Please share! If we come up with a good name, I am sure we can make a great logo, better than any of those I posted - I was just fooling around with those logos for fun while brainstorming, they weren't really serious attempts, because FIRST: WE NEED A NAME.

As for a logo I like the first one Mac made, I like the idea of some Italian flavor to the design.
It would seem that the Seattle site should be the "home port" of the club, they seem to have gotten the spark going for renewed interest in these cars and getting it organized, the forum has developed into a great place for info and ideas.

You guys in SeaX have developed a great club with recognizable name. As something grows it doesn't have to be renamed.(back to the Elvis thread) As Elvis grew in popularity, he didn't change his name. Imagine where he would have ended up if he had changed his name to Rock Hudson. I'm sure a lot of people picked on him with the name like Elvis. A serious example:there was a hiking boot company called OneSport who made awsome boots, they changed there name to Montrail, now I never see them in stores anymore,even though they still make an awsome boot. Seattle is just where it is based, it can still be national or international. Just remember the power of name recognition.

I'd like now to say that some changes are on the horizon for SeattleX1/9 as an organization, and changes are on the way for the SeaX website as well. For those of you who have been involved with our group for a long time, you will recognize this as the beginning of another growth spurt. You all are used to this by now
For those of you who have come along more recently, just keep in mind that when this happens, there is usually a time of flux & fluidity around the website before things really start to take a solid form: All things (the XANA name, the logo, the whole of the website) are subject to change, perhaps more than once (!!) before we find the form that suits us and can move on to fine-tuning that.
Bottom line, here we go again
Be prepared to see some changes sneaking into the site, as always feedback [through email or forum] on any or all such changes is welcome. Expect to see some flickers of one thing or another before we really get this thing set up right... that's the creative process!

But really the point of making those was not to figure out a logo, but to figure out a NAME. An organization of such a magnitude would need a good name. Although it is straight-forward & descriptive enough, I just don't like the prospect of calling it "X1/9 Owners Club Of North America". It just lacks passion. It sounds too plain for me.
Then again, I don't have many other ideas either, at the moment...
ALSO worth thinking about in a name, is the acronym or 'nickname' of the organization. This one has me really stumped!
When this group was founded, "SeattleX1/9" just hit the nail on the head for us. It's catchy, easy to say, and has a nice nickname potential, "SeaX"
But GEEZOMAN, think about the acronym for "X1/9 Owners Club of North America" - - XOCNA ??
Or, "North American X1/9 Owners Club" - NAXOC ??
Hmmn. "X1/9 Enthusiasts North America" - XENA ?!?!
Would our future Xheads of the continent be cursing their forefathers forever for the group being forever referred to as Xena? It does sound more like a Warrior Princess than a bigass car club
So, I am having writer's block. Anyone have suggestions for the name? Please share! If we come up with a good name, I am sure we can make a great logo, better than any of those I posted - I was just fooling around with those logos for fun while brainstorming, they weren't really serious attempts, because FIRST: WE NEED A NAME.

As for a logo I like the first one Mac made, I like the idea of some Italian flavor to the design.
It would seem that the Seattle site should be the "home port" of the club, they seem to have gotten the spark going for renewed interest in these cars and getting it organized, the forum has developed into a great place for info and ideas.

You guys in SeaX have developed a great club with recognizable name. As something grows it doesn't have to be renamed.(back to the Elvis thread) As Elvis grew in popularity, he didn't change his name. Imagine where he would have ended up if he had changed his name to Rock Hudson. I'm sure a lot of people picked on him with the name like Elvis. A serious example:there was a hiking boot company called OneSport who made awsome boots, they changed there name to Montrail, now I never see them in stores anymore,even though they still make an awsome boot. Seattle is just where it is based, it can still be national or international. Just remember the power of name recognition.

As you have probably noticed, the background image in this forum no longer says "SeattleX1/9", it has been changed to the 'XANA' logo that was voted most popular by the posts to this discussion...
I'd like now to say that some changes are on the horizon for SeattleX1/9 as an organization, and changes are on the way for the SeaX website as well. For those of you who have been involved with our group for a long time, you will recognize this as the beginning of another growth spurt. You all are used to this by now
For those of you who have come along more recently, just keep in mind that when this happens, there is usually a time of flux & fluidity around the website before things really start to take a solid form: All things (the XANA name, the logo, the whole of the website) are subject to change, perhaps more than once (!!) before we find the form that suits us and can move on to fine-tuning that.
Bottom line, here we go again
Be prepared to see some changes sneaking into the site, as always feedback [through email or forum] on any or all such changes is welcome. Expect to see some flickers of one thing or another before we really get this thing set up right... that's the creative process!
