Low Mileage
This is in my '68 Fiat 850 spider. Block says 100GL which I think comes from a later model Fiat 127. Are there other numbers on this block, and where would they be?
This is supposed to be an OT 1000 Abarth tribute motor. Wouldn't it have A112a or A112b on it somewhere?

Thanks everyone

The exact number should be on the fuel pump side at the end of block just above the timing cover. At least it was on earlier blocks.

Congrats, you have an A112 motor. Somebody did some work to adapt it to the 850. They changed the rotation direction, drilled a hole in the end of the crank for a bushing and figured out how to attach the exhaust. Most likely its a 1050 cc motor.

Now the bad news, its not an OT1000 motor, and there is no such thing as a "tribute motor" Just marketing by the PO. The OT1000 motor was built off the 600 motor.

A112 A2 is a 1050 so you are good to go. Good buy.

1050cc will be sweet if I can get it running well.
ok so, since it has a spin on filter (left side of block), what's this crank pulley cover thing? I thought that was part of the centrifugal oil slinging configuration.

My guess would be that the previous owner simply fitted a standard 850 pulley. Same for the timing chain cover - that's an 850 cover, the 1050 one would have a fuel pump mount on the upper left of it. These were probably done to make the 1050 engine conversion less glaringly obvious & more in line with the "OT tribute engine" theme that you mentioned.

Thanks Jeff, that all makes sense the more I learn about this seller and car

Looks like an Abarth OT1000-style exhaust. It doesn't appear to be an actual Abarth system, more likely an aftermarket OMP, 3B or other-brand reproduction unit.
Whats holding up the muffler? Just the exhaust manifold bolts? I would appreciate a photo of whatever bracket they made to support the muffler.
thanks.

I’m interested also as I’ll need to make a muffler bracket as well.👍🏻
