thanks for the info, I'm asking for more information because after sharing the photos of my engine on a Facebook group, a person commented on my post saying that he bought a fiat x1/9 in Florida with an engine very similar to mine ( photo attached), so I don't know if it is the same car as Russ McBride, or there is another x1/9 equipped with another prototype engine.I believe Russ' engine was indeed one of the evaluation engines brought to the USA. I used the Xweb specific Google search engine (linked in my signature) and typed in "Russ McBride". Here are the results. You can read through the results to see if you can find more info.
