I just finished writing an email to 'Frosty' of the UK X1/9 Owners Club, who had requested more detail on the XANA organization, and from its contents I have culled what is basically a "mission statement" for the new North American organization.
This will be drafted out a little, and posted (hopefully today) with some other little updates, on the XANA homepage. Until then, here is the rough draft of what I've got together:

"X1/9 Automobili North America" (as it is presently being called) is
being launched as a "parent" organization of all regional or local
X-specific groups in North America and her territories, although at
present, SeattleX1/9 (covering the Pacific Northwest US States of
Washington & Oregon) is currently the only true X-specific club known
to exist in this vast part of the world...
The purpose of the North American organization will be to prompt the
founding of MORE regional clubs (like SeattleX1/9) in other parts of
North America. The "parent" organization will act as a banner under
which interested enthusiasts can launch local or regional groups in
their own parts of the geographically gigantic North America, and yet
have the means for these smaller groups to be interconnected.
At the outset, the North American organization will be completely
web-based, and will perform simple functions. It will present a website
in its own name, containing information on itself and on each regional
X1/9-specific group that exists in NA. It will provide links to
websites of these smaller regional groups from its own site, or
possibly even provide pages directly for small or developing groups
that have not yet established a web presence of their own.
It will perform the function of providing an avenue by which X1/9
enthusiasts in North America can connect with one another, and with
other groups in other parts of the world (such as the UK club or the
Italian clubs for example).
It will provide a unified presence on the web for the rest of the world
to see & interact with as representing the presence of X1/9 enthusiasts
in North America.
Perhaps most important of all, it will offer those enterprising Xheads
in 'uncovered' regions of NA the impetus and basic support by which to
start small groups in their own areas, thereby creating not only a new
local group servicing a specific region, but growing the actual
coverage of the NA organization with the addition of these groups!
In time, as this all evolves, it is likely that the parent organization
will begin offerings of its own, aside from its website. Meaning, a
newsletter or magazine from the NA level, that could be distributed to
the individual groups or other interested parties, the organization of
LARGE events on a National or International level, or any number of
other possibilities.
In any case, "X1/9 Automobili North America" is now a reality, albeit
in a newborn state. As time passes, we are very hopeful that these
thoughts and plans will come to fruition. Time will tell all!

There are alot of X clubs throughout the world, but we have the potential to become a very large and influential club. Owners only need to become aware of the organizational effort.
As a new owner, I have been amazed at the world wide interest and "obsession" with the X1/9.....
I see alot of US participation on the web, we only need to get the word out and.....COME TOGETHER.
There is a ton of expertise, enthusiasm, cooperation and dedication to the X here in the US, the amount of help, references and advice/answers is impressive...the SeaX site has been invaluable to me.
I look forward to being involved with and witnessing the progress and developments......

There are alot of X clubs throughout the world, but we have the potential to become a very large and influential club. Owners only need to become aware of the organizational effort.
As a new owner, I have been amazed at the world wide interest and "obsession" with the X1/9.....
I see alot of US participation on the web, we only need to get the word out and.....COME TOGETHER.
There is a ton of expertise, enthusiasm, cooperation and dedication to the X here in the US, the amount of help, references and advice/answers is impressive...the SeaX site has been invaluable to me.
I look forward to being involved with and witnessing the progress and developments......

Hope to have the car back in action by Sunday for an autocross at the Greene kart track. It's located in Greene, NY near Binghamton.
