Yippee! The long gestation period was principally the fault of a) lazieness and b) uncertainty of my own mechanical prowess. Now however, I've taken the initiative to make a big push on the car, and it's getting closer to cranking time, and thus, I have a few questions. I figure rather than blow the thing up again, I'd ask some (hopefully) final questions related to this little episode.

I've gotten the new head gasket on, torqued down the head itself (Thanks Tony N. for posting the specs!), and started to reconnect things. I've got the manifold & FI system back on and connected, and will have the coolant system back on tomorrow. I am wondering if other than draining and filling engine oil, filling coolant, and praying, what I might need to look for in attempting to make this process smooth as possible. Any info or advice is, as always, much appreciated. Thanks again guys and gals. I couldn't do this without 'cha!

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->I would pull the plugs and squirt some oil in the cylinders and then turn over the engine by HAND. (Jack right side, pull tire, turn crank pulley. You can also put it in gear and roll the car in 4th or 5th with the help of a friend...)

Make sure nothing binds or gets hung up.

Recheck timing marks... reinstall plugs, pull coil wire... and turn over the engine. If everything sounds good... squirt some gas in the intake, reinstall coil wire, and lite her off!
