The needle just stays at the bottem. Also, I never have noticed my radiator fan coming on. Is there some way I can jumper it to see if it works?

If the gauge (and wiring) is good, the gauge will peg when you ground the lead. This will tell you that the sender is bad. If nothing happens, then you need to ohm the wiring next.

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Then James'... then "Ohm" the lead by detaching both ends... ground the lead at the block and measure (hopefully) zero ohms to ground with the meter.

If this is all Greek to you... let us know and we'll explain further.

If you do not have continuity on the lead... Then you'll need to do one of two things. 1) Trace the old lead literally or electrically thru the fuse block, connectors and harnesses. Or 2) Run a new lead.

I might suggest running a temporary lead up over the roof into the guage just to see if this solves the problem first.

Instead of gettin the ohm meter out, just turn the ignition key on and touch ground with the lead to the sensor. If the needle goes all the way up, the connection is fine and the sensor is messed.
