Or low concentrations of Hispanic folks? I'm less happy without my Mexican-American friends in San Diego.

Wyoming is easy to explain-there is always a chance you could run into Dick Cheney (and not have your electro-magnet with you:laugh

I'm surprised Washington isn't higher. Perhaps the Eastern half of the state makes up for the depressing climate of the damp, gray crowded side.

I was sort of surprised by..

Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming-especially Utah. I have an impression of those places being filled with fairly perky people :hmm:
Washington and Oregon I completely understand though the weather doesn't bother us much-we like it in Portland.
