screaming sound

I put a modified head on the x1/9. Today i did the first startup. after some trouble it runs wel now. But sometimes, mostly after starting, i hear e screaming sound. i sounds like a loose V-belt, but it appears to be coming from the engineblock. After some hitting the gaspedal it's gone. Als if i reduce the pre-ignition it's also gone.

Does anywone have some suggestions?

that sounds like alternator to me...

especially after a few raps of gas pedal making it go away...

do you mean the baerings of the altanator?

yes...

failing internally... my old one would scream under heavy load too... check belt and pulley alignment... just a possibility...

it apaers you were right. the bolts were a little loose. I tightened them and the screaming was gone.
