Didn't feel a thing.
But in '94, I was the area manager for Pacific Bell and four central offices located about 10 miles from the epicenter of the Northridge quake...
I'd rather be in Viet Nam... at least ya can shoot back!

In Alaska, the buildings are built for earthquakes. Down here, most old buildings were not, and probably ony 60-70% of the people have ever been in an earthquake. Lets just all remember to be safe and ready. We were lucky. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Now...did anyone suffer any X damage in the quake?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

When this 6.8 happened the other day I think a lot of folks were recalling that declaration and thinking to themselves "this could be it". We were just very lucky it was about 30 miles beneath the surface. Had it been, say, half that, downtown Seattle would be in the drink and half of Western Washington could be in pieces. No thanks! I'm glad, and it was very amazing that so few were injured. -Mac.

When I lived in WV once, we had a small tremor one night. I was on the couch and it felt like a ghost had bumped into the back of it. It sure made me jump up real quick and look around wondering what the heck it was. (We're not supposed to have those things on the east coast...)

Didn't feel a thing.
But in '94, I was the area manager for Pacific Bell and four central offices located about 10 miles from the epicenter of the Northridge quake...
I'd rather be in Viet Nam... at least ya can shoot back!

In Alaska, the buildings are built for earthquakes. Down here, most old buildings were not, and probably ony 60-70% of the people have ever been in an earthquake. Lets just all remember to be safe and ready. We were lucky. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Now...did anyone suffer any X damage in the quake?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->I can only think to add that most Northwesterners were even more agitated (pun) by the quake because, after the last big SoCal quake, seismologists up here declared that the Seattle area was about 95 years (?) overdue for a BIG ONE! When this 6.8 happened the other day I think a lot of folks were recalling that declaration and thinking to themselves "this could be it". We were just very lucky it was about 30 miles beneath the surface. Had it been, say, half that, downtown Seattle would be in the drink and half of Western Washington could be in pieces. No thanks! I'm glad, and it was very amazing that so few were injured. -Mac.

When I lived in WV once, we had a small tremor one night. I was on the couch and it felt like a ghost had bumped into the back of it. It sure made me jump up real quick and look around wondering what the heck it was. (We're not supposed to have those things on the east coast...)
