Selling my X1/9

Lukejay

Low Mileage
Am selling my 1982 X1/9 in the original color (I think called Rosso), with clean title, and wanted to put it on the forum before going on eBay etc. I’ve spent a good chunk of money late last year getting into the great running shape it is now. New brakes, shocks, alternator, hoses, tires... a major service, and it was smog’d at the time also. Odometer is currently 66,434. It’s basically rust free aside from a couple of tiny spots, but as you can see the seats could maybe use a refresh so I bought some seat covers from an original car from Midwest Bayless but haven’t got around to fitting them. They will also come with the car along with a few other bits and pieces. Car is in Santa Monica. $7K. Luke - 310 985 2418.

Looks really nice. A couple cans of "Tuff Stuff" will tidy that interior right up! A clamp, heat gun and 2×4 will flatten out that bumper trim. Just food for thought. Great car. GLWS

Agreed. That worked for me with the bumper trim on my car.

Very nice car Lukejay and it's very nice of you to offer it here first. If it doesn't find a home here you might give it a good scrubbing and list it on Bring a Trailer. X1/9's do really well there lately. Fees are only $99 and there are a ton of California buyers on there. Having a clean California title and a recent smog passed is huge plus.

Wow, that's really tempting as I'm currently in the market for one. Saw it has an A/C button. Does it work? Would you daily it?

My X has a couple wrinkles....can you elaborate on the method??

Hi - sorry for the delay. Honestly I haven’t really explored the AC button. Have never truly the felt the need to use it, so thought i would just leave it. And yes it’s been my daily driver. Luke.

I’ll be back with the car on Saturday so can check if you want?

Hey Luke! Yeah man, might be nice just to see if a compressor tries to kick on or not. Having lived in Santa Monica for 4 years, I get that you'd rarely ever need it! But now that I'm in central Oregon it can get mighty hot sometimes. Was looking at either retrofitting an A/C onto an existing X1/9 or repairing one in the case of yours. I'm definitely interested in it, it looks really clean. Especially to daily which is what I'd like to do. Let me know, thanks so much!
