Stripes: factory or dealer?

What year is your car?

These are most likely dealer installed. The dealer I worked for often installed stripes like this. None of the cars I prepped had stripes from the factory, but this was in '79. I can't comment with 100% certainty on later years.

It's an early '79

And I've seen many other '79's in different parts of the country with the same striping in different colors.

It was installed really well; I'm dealing with residue removal now, looking for something that works better than Goo Gone.

Dealers

Hi,

When I bought some NOS fiat parts from a former Fiat dealer, there were a couple of set of side stripes. It may be possible that some editions had factory stripes, but the usual "ladder" stripes were available at the dealer.

Those stripes look like the brochure

I don't remember which one it was but I think it was a later ('85, '86?) brochure where the car's shape was defined by those stripes.

Dealer add.

this was in the FIAT Accessories brochure in the late 70's into 1980.
Also had the Spider, Strada, etc..
kinda cool.

Back in 78

I worked at a Fiat Dealership.

All stripes were dealer installed and I was the one installing them.

Nice to see a photo of the Laser Stripes...want them?

I always loved the Laser Stripes, which I have been told (maybe incorrectly) that they were only installed by Roosevelt Motors in New Jersey and only from 1974 to 1975.

I talked about them in this thread, after having a shop carefully re-create them in 2010. I even had them make another section for the side fronts (by the '74 bumpers) and ahead of the side lights, that the original kit did not have, for guys like me that went bumperless. I did take these off when I had the K20 work done, wanted a more plain X.

And Ulix was kind enough to host these files on Mirafiori so anyone can get them and have them made up. You can get the files right here:

I have a targa with sunroof sitting in my garage. I never really understood the logic...and it's heavy too!

Sunroof installed in the stock top. I wish it was a Saratoga!

Pics would be nice ;)
Probably similar to this behemoth. Heavy glass from the 80s that pops open a couple of inches.

Here is something similar but a more recent updated version.
I can't remember where I saved it from but has to be someone's car from Europe or Italy.

Jim,
I get a "Page not found" error when I follow the link to the mirafiori site. Are these files still hosted somewhere?
Many thanks for sharing them.
