I finally got a chance to look at it Hugo left it a the USMC base where I work but I kept forgetting to take the keys with me when I finally looked at it I changed the fuel filter that's easy. Got Worse!! checked filter again EMPTY (fuel pump inop) checked pump CORRODED contacts cleaned and started. Why is the easy things are easy to miss. 1. Any obvious leak?
2. Check Tank Cap... should be able to hold 12 pounds of pressure. Replace with an original from C.Obert in Santa Cruz, CA or locally with a 14 lb Stant 229.
3. Purge Radiator... as it sits HIGHER and traps air in the top. There is a bleed screw in the top left corner thru the front trunk... I think its a 7 mm allen.
OR... Point the car DOWNHILL and fill it...
OR... Under the plastic cover where the ECM is... there is usually a fitting to the heater hose... purge there.
OR... Cut that heater hose and install one of those flush kit cleanouts (STANT--- 4 bucks at Wal Mart) and fill it with a hoses under pressure... make sure heater is on ans run engine... let it over flow at tank...
That oughtta do it... OR, remvoe two radiator crossbar mounting bolts and drop it to the ground with the car jacked up... refill though tank... reassemble!
Take it for another spin with a bleach bottle full of water and a CELL PHONE!
