I think this place can grow. Organized and united!!!! I'm suprised how many American (North and South)don't know we are here. As for membership, I'd pay. This place is invaluable. Let's work with the parts suppliers(Bayless, International, Apple ect) for banner ads and product news. Put our address in their catalogs for unfamilliar owners. It just seems there are too many wannabe X sites out there, we are the best around, lets take charge ang be a leader. Also a fluids chart and engine timing helper. I'll do this too, but need some input.
Make $$$ though sales.
Shirts, decals exlusive items for the X that no parts catalog sells. Bertone wheel caps(both kind) for one would be nice. Small run of these for pre orders would be great. Mac did it for Seattle X and this place was a baby back then. eBay advertising through Auctions. Any help we can get will help.

In conclusion, we are the American X site. We have the best participation. We have a great format(most sites are slow). We have pull to get things done.

Anyhow, I think limiting this site in any way would be a huge mistake, as I love hearing from all the foreigners etc, even though they can get turbos and I can't. About the only thing I'd say would be for seperation is just to make sure people in Europe know there are European clubs, that might be able to help them better... They hated it when they were asked where they were from and when they said america they were asked which state. It really made them angry. If you want to refer to the continient you need to stipulate which part, north, central or south. If you want to refer to the whole of the continient then it is the americas. NA includes Mexio, US and Canada. It is not polictally correct it is gramatically correct. I do not tell someone I am American when I am overseas because I am not, I am Canadian. I do not put flags on my back pack because I do not feel I need to. Although it was funny seeing a couple of girls in Beijing with Canadian flags on there packs and when we asked them which part of Canada they were from they told us they were really American but they knew that if they do the flag trick they will get treated better because people don't like Americans but they do like Canadians. Do not assume that Canadians are the only ones that are particular when it comes to how they are refered to, it would be very shallow to think that way as my south American friends assured me that they also do not appreciate it either. When I stepped in to clarify what I thought was meant, I was referring to JAMES' post, that JAMES was suggesting "American" growth of the organization (ie: developing what the org has in the US) and growth on our continent (because, no matter how many parts of the world the Forums serve, the ORGANIZATION does represent North America)...
There was NO separatist or nationalist freakishness there as far as I could tell. It was when someone piped up anonymously with "hey there's more than just Americans here" that the whole intended thrust of the message got totally lost among people jumping to proclaim their beliefs about whether the forum should or shouldn't be restricted to various nationalities...
EVERYBODY STOP! You guys are running with the wrong ball. NOBODY EVER SUGGESTED EXCLUDING ANYONE. NO ONE IS EXCLUDED FROM THE FORUMS AND NO ONE EVER WILL BE. THE FORUMS SERVE THE WORLD AND AS LONG AS THEY EXIST THEY WILL REMAIN OPEN TO EVERYONE IN THE WORLD!

Everyone needs to remember that there is more to XANA than just the Xweb Forums. It is an organization in real life, which is set up to represent enthusiasts in North America.
When you hear talk of "America this", "Canada that", "Mexico this" or whatever, it is NOT because we are planning to slam the forum door on anyone outside this region, it is because we are talking about the ORGANIZATION, not the website!
`Whew' I hope I have been able to express myself clearly and in a way that no one can misunderstand. The XWEB FORUMS SERVE THE WORLD, and as long as the site exists, they always will serve the world, regardless of whether the XANA organization itself is only representing enthusiasts on the North American continent.

B: Have a location page for all participants to this site, so that any new participants can feel more at home and get in contact with local owners. This site got me hooked up with JP and it has been great swapping knowledge and X war stories.

No fees, No membership, nothing like that. The UK site had a thread about restricting to members only and the lot of them came to the same conclusion. "Bad Idea" I'd just like all the owners that live in a certain location, either Seattle, New York, Mexico City, Springfield, Knoxville, Smallville ect to know where we all are so we can get together and help each other out and trade parts, share X war stories ect. Not be part of separate but equal clubs and pass each other on the road and ask on the next days thread

I think this place can grow. Organized and united!!!! I'm suprised how many American (North and South)don't know we are here. As for membership, I'd pay. This place is invaluable. Let's work with the parts suppliers(Bayless, International, Apple ect) for banner ads and product news. Put our address in their catalogs for unfamilliar owners. It just seems there are too many wannabe X sites out there, we are the best around, lets take charge ang be a leader. Also a fluids chart and engine timing helper. I'll do this too, but need some input.

Shirts, decals exlusive items for the X that no parts catalog sells. Bertone wheel caps(both kind) for one would be nice. Small run of these for pre orders would be great. Mac did it for Seattle X and this place was a baby back then. eBay advertising through Auctions. Any help we can get will help.

In conclusion, we are the American X site. We have the best participation. We have a great format(most sites are slow). We have pull to get things done.

I was expecting some comment from a snide Canadian about American self-centeredness for calling all of America the US, and to see a Canadian label the term American as US only was kind of a suprise.
Anyhow, I think limiting this site in any way would be a huge mistake, as I love hearing from all the foreigners etc, even though they can get turbos and I can't. About the only thing I'd say would be for seperation is just to make sure people in Europe know there are European clubs, that might be able to help them better... They hated it when they were asked where they were from and when they said america they were asked which state. It really made them angry. If you want to refer to the continient you need to stipulate which part, north, central or south. If you want to refer to the whole of the continient then it is the americas. NA includes Mexio, US and Canada. It is not polictally correct it is gramatically correct. I do not tell someone I am American when I am overseas because I am not, I am Canadian. I do not put flags on my back pack because I do not feel I need to. Although it was funny seeing a couple of girls in Beijing with Canadian flags on there packs and when we asked them which part of Canada they were from they told us they were really American but they knew that if they do the flag trick they will get treated better because people don't like Americans but they do like Canadians. If you want to get made at someone by that statement get made at the girl who told it to me. Do not assume that Canadians are the only ones that are particular when it comes to how they are refered to, it would be very shallow to think that way as my south American friends assured me that they also do not appreciate it either. This forum is great and I have not felt much anst even when the odd snide remark is thrown at a canuck by a yank. Let's not let politics and stuff get in the way of reality and the fun and enjoyment of talking about something much more worth talking about, the X. If we do let this stupid nationalism get in the way, we will all lose, ALL. And it is stupid. This is a global village and anyone that is so very nationalistic is an archaic dinosaur who will soon be extinct. Travel with an open mind and see the world for what it is. When I stepped in to clarify what I thought was meant, I was referring to JAMES' post, that JAMES was suggesting "American" growth of the organization (ie: developing what the org has in the US) and growth on our continent (because, no matter how many parts of the world the Forums serve, the ORGANIZATION does represent North America)...
There was NO separatist or nationalist freakishness there as far as I could tell. It was when someone piped up anonymously with "hey there's more than just Americans here" that the whole intended thrust of the message got totally lost among people jumping to proclaim their beliefs about whether the forum should or shouldn't be restricted to various nationalities...
EVERYBODY STOP! You guys are running with the wrong ball. NOBODY EVER SUGGESTED EXCLUDING ANYONE. NO ONE IS EXCLUDED FROM THE FORUMS AND NO ONE EVER WILL BE. THE FORUMS SERVE THE WORLD AND AS LONG AS THEY EXIST THEY WILL REMAIN OPEN TO EVERYONE IN THE WORLD!
That does NOT CHANGE the FACT that XANA itself (the ORG not the SITE) is an organization based in the USA and representing North America. Not England, Not France, Not Chile or Peru, not Zimbabwe ( sorry Zimbabwe
This is NOT set up this way to exclude people because we don't like them or because we are arrogant American narcicists, it is set up this way because North America is freaking HUUUGE and just to include all of that in one organization is a mammoth undertaking.
Sorry, if you live outside of North America, XANA as an organization is not intended to REPRESENT YOU. That does NOT mean that XANA can not or does not SERVE YOU, obviously, as the forums include and help Xheads worldwide - and we would NOT have that any other way!
Everyone needs to remember that there is more to XANA than just the Xweb Forums. It is an organization in real life, which is set up to represent enthusiasts in North America.
When you hear talk of "America this", "Canada that", "Mexico this" or whatever, it is NOT because we are planning to slam the forum door on anyone outside this region, it is because we are talking about the ORGANIZATION, not the website!
`Whew' I hope I have been able to express myself clearly and in a way that no one can misunderstand. The XWEB FORUMS SERVE THE WORLD, and as long as the site exists, they always will serve the world, regardless of whether the XANA organization itself is only representing enthusiasts on the North American continent.

( that's what local clubs are for.)This forum is an amazing wealth of knowledge and information,the only site so far where it doesn't cost you any thing other than time to belong. B: Have a location page for all participants to this site, so that any new participants can feel more at home and get in contact with local owners. This site got me hooked up with JP and it has been great swapping knowledge and X war stories.

I just want this place to grow. Have some pull with the parts suppliers and manufacturers. Get those Daytonas produced again, get those Satatoga tops on the market again. Anyone see my point? No fees, No membership, nothing like that. The UK site had a thread about restricting to members only and the lot of them came to the same conclusion. "Bad Idea" I'd just like all the owners that live in a certain location, either Seattle, New York, Mexico City, Springfield, Knoxville, Smallville ect to know where we all are so we can get together and help each other out and trade parts, share X war stories ect. Not be part of separate but equal clubs and pass each other on the road and ask on the next days thread
