This will give you the chance to use your garden hose and "ram" out the pipes under the car. Unfortunately you are going to end up cold, wet and miserable. Sorry.
If you ONLY want to flush the radiator just take the fittings off each end. Be warned though - the radiator is a good filter and a clean radiator will filter a lot of the s t from the system. The bad news is you don't want that stuff in there!
IMHO take the 4 big hoses off and go crazy with the garden hose!

I also use a flushing tee in the heater hose (worth only a few $) to backflush the entire system (heater core, rad, hoses, block) in one shot. You can also use some rad flusing chemical to help.
But be carefull as I found out to my great displeasure the chemical is corrosive enough to discolor plastic parts the overflow might hit
. I now use a platic hose to direct it away from the car

To confirm this ( i believe i did some years ago but I'm not sure anymore) you can open the drain on the side of the block and clear water should come out under as long as the hose is on.
