<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Hey Ripley, this is Greg in Eugene. I ran the autocross at Monacco in Coburg this last weekend (my first time also) and had 28 front 32 rear and it did'nt work all that well, so from what I can tell your pressure may be about right. I ran the crap out of my X and really had a good time. I am always amazed how hard you can run a sohc FIAT motor and they just beg for more. One word of advice, memorize the course I got all revved up and blew a gate on my first run. Next time I'm going to run slower on the first pass and try to increase my speed as I go. Oh ya that 3rd place sticker on my car sure looks cool! GOOD LUCK Greg.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Try about 33 front and 35 rear for a first pass. An old racers trick is to put some white shoe polish on the edges of the tread wrapping over a bit to the sidewall. At the end of the run, you will be able to tell how far your tires are rolling over. Ideally, they should roll just to the very edge of the tread, usually just over the "corner" at the edge of the tread. Too much roll = more pressure not enough roll = less pressure.

Also, do not be afraid to ask of experienced racers. Autocross folks are great people and always willing to help.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Thanks Mark and Greg,

I appreciate the advice. My biggest concern is remembering the course. This will be the 3rd autocross I've been to. The first one that I'll actually participate in. At the last one, Mike Mittlestead and Eric Armstrong took me as a passenger on runs with them and I was hooked! I just hope I can remember which way I'm supposed to go around the cones!

I'll do the shoe polish thing and bump the pressures up as suggested. Not too worried about how I do, just have fun and see how the car handles. I have had the car since March and it was not running when I got it. A lot of tinkering, tuning, and scrubbing and it's doing pretty well. I still have to figure out an issue with either my carb or ignition, but it's running all right.

I just hope my wife doesn't beat me as she is going to be running my Neon against me.
