I just finished restoring these Abarth CD30s (5.5x13) and was wondering whether a 185/60/13 or 165/70/13 would be a better choice on an 850 Spider. Anyone have personal experience?
185/60 worked fine with my friend Lavin's 850, at different times he had the CD30s and later the gear wheel style on the car with A509s. His car was one of Kieth Teeter's cars which I don't recall it having had the fender lips rolled but knowing him it could well have been done.
The 165/70 size also works fine in my experience. I currently have 155/80 rim protectors on my Sport Coupe with the hope to transition to 185/60 when I really start driving it.
185/60/13 works fine, though you may need to roll the front fender lips up a bit to prevent them from hitting the tire edge when going over bumps in a turn.
165-series may look a bit narrow on the CD-30, you might try 175/70/13 for a good compromise.
