topolino question? year made?

I was hoping Topolino (original 500) questions go here even though it is front engined.

Does anyone know where I can find info on chassis numbers and production dates? I'm trying to nail down a production year on a car I'm researching. Chassis number 25,xxx

I believe it is 1937 but could be late 1936

It was launched on June 15, 1936 and ended production in spring of 1955.

Given that the Lemay Museum http://www.lemaymuseum.org/vehicles.php?vid=1320 example is a 1937 and the Serial No: 500-021114 would put the one you are interested in between that one and a 1938 production car. Likely 1937 given that there were *375000 of them produced.

Thanks a lot! I'd say 1937 seems very realistic.

The one I'm looking at is actually a UK car (made in Italy imported to UK) as it has the chassis number and engine number on a UK "vin" plate.
