I'd say its me but I've taken the measurements twice and their exactly the same.

The measurements are in thousanths of an inch the second column is the diff. between the two
1 Intake 11 1
Exhaust 12

2 Intake 11 3
Exhaust 14

3 Intake 13 2
Exhaust 15

4 Intake 14 3
Exhaust 17

the '77 x 1/9 I just got running has a knock I really dont believe is a rod or wrist pin although it has the classic sound of; rev it up you have the highpiched ellement as you let off on the throttle, let it wind down and just as you begin to give it power the lower ellement cuts in and goes away as you gain torque.
My stethescope places the sound at the tranny end of the cam housing not in any of the cylinders or at any of the intake or exhaust ports. I'm thinking the aft end cam bearing is shot but there would still be 4 thousands between in. and Ex
Also this engine runs way too good to have burnt valves or for the valve adjustment to be that far off. ie. 16 and 20. Help B
