VAS gas tank studs not aligning with sender holes

Anyone else have trouble with this?

Got a new tank and sender from VAS but the studs on the tank don't quite line up with the holes in the sender. I'm nervous to bend the studs much because they seem prone to snapping. Any advice much appreciated...

I would slot the holes in the sender with a file or something. Like you say, bending the studs is not the answer!

Do you think drilling the holes in the sender to the next size would do it, lot less work than filing.

I purchased a replacement rubber seal for that joint (sender cover to tank) and the holes on the seal don't match up very well with the tank studs. The tank in this case is the stock original one and the rubber seal came from Europe, so I'm guessing it is just one of those typical quality issues so common on these vehicles and replacement parts. I agree with the others, just make the holes in the cover match the tank studs. There is plenty of coverage between the two surfaces to allow for it.
